I came upon a house

In a place I’d never been before

All painted white and open doors
Весь белый, он открыт стоял,
With the sunlight dancing on the floor,
Солнца свет по полу танцевал,
I saw the wind in the spring trees
Весенний ветер видел я,
Smelt the poplar and the sun’s heat
Запах зноя плыл в тополях,
And the meadows lie sleeping
И луга вокруг все спят
I found myself in a pale room
Я очутился в комнате,
With a bolted door
На двери засов,
And a beautiful silence.
И тишина прекрасна.
I saw a woman lying there
И женщина лежала там,
With the sunlight entwined in her auburn hair
Луч солнца скользил по рыжим волосам,
And through the window floated many things
И уплывали вещи сквозь окно,
Photographs and letters and her wedding ring
Фото, письма, обручальное кольцо,
And a child voice speaking
Детский слышен голос
I came upon a house

And in this lace of light and dark

I feel my heart sing joyously inside me
